Antique Mahogany French Empire Style Fall Front Secretary

About the Item

A stunning French Empire-style fall-front secretary, crafted from rich mahogany with striking grain patterns and a warm patina. The sleek yet stately form is accentuated by columnar supports with turned capitals and bases, lending a sense of classical elegance. The fall-front desk opens to reveal a beautifully fitted interior with drawers, cubbies, and a writing surface, making it as functional as it is decorative. Beneath the writing surface, three full-width drawers provide ample storage, each adorned with gilded brass pulls and fitted with traditional escutcheons. The clean lines and restrained ornamentation are characteristic of the Empire period, reflecting the neoclassical influences of early 19th-century France. In overall very good antique condition, with only minor wear consistent with age. A small section of wood has split off the left rear corner on the top (pictured) but does not affect the structural integrity. The secretary retains its original hardware and finish, showing age-appropriate character while maintaining stability and usability. A timeless statement piece, perfect for those who appreciate the blend of historical craftsmanship and everyday utility. 56h x 38w x 17d knee height 26
