French Empire Mahogany Drop Front Secretary "Secrétaire à Abattant"

About the Item

Early 19th century French mahogany wood Empire style drop front secretary with a removable black marble top. The secretary features two front side columns with bronze mounts detail with three pull drawers below and one drawer above resting on four feet. The desk drops down to reveal a leather top writing surface featuring numerous additional small drawers. The exterior drawers are keyed and have the original large ornate brass pulls. The secretary is in good antique condition with appropriate wear consistent with age / use. Wear to marble top. It measures 56 inches high X 39 inches wide X 17inches deep.
