Italian Art Deco Teak Cabinet By Paolo Buffa , 1950s

About the Item

This bar cabinet was produced in Italy in the 1950s by Paolo Buffa. The external structure is completely made of teak wood. The beauty of this piece is crowned by the elegant interiors, characterized by the presence of mirrors covering the walls, by two crystals; one on the lower level and one that acts as a central shelf and by two small drawers in the lower part. Mirrors and crystals are original from the time and perfectly preserved. Restored.

It was produced most likely in 1939 in Mariano Comense which is a small village near Milan by the artist Giuseppe Anzani. Anzani has been one of the greatest, if not the greatest wood crafter and inlaid maker. Later on, he started also to master the art of wood inlay, becoming the most skilled inlayer of all times.
