About the Item

Signed "James Mont Design" 1950's 'Chinese Modern' pagoda-form band rubbed black lacquered cocktail bar cabinet with mirror and red lacquer interior and 'speakeasy' discrete swivel central door which with a push opens to reveal the demi-lune bottle and cocktail glass caddy with antiqued mirror top. Left and right side doors have Mont's distinctive hand carved and silvered bell-form pulls. Each compartment has a single adjustable shelf. Backside finished in black. We have taken care to conserve Mont's original multi-layer hand-rubbed lacquer finish and its gracefully aged craquelure, making touch-ups and corrections only where necessary. Ready to place. See images from original brochure from James Mont Design and Modern Mode Furniture Co. Inc. 214-216 East 52nd St. New York, Tel. Eldorado 5-6735.
