About the Item
Biedermeier Secretary chest of drawers hand-made in Denmark in the early 1800s using mahogany. The piece is decorated with a masterly-laid book-matched mahogany burl veneer, and the alternation of colors of the grain of the bleached wood are just stunning. This is a piece of furniture that is not only practical, but an absolute show stopper; wherever it will be placed it will draw the attention of anybody entering the room and set the tone of a space. Its lines are timeless and elegant, the decorative wood gives it a very classical feel, but the light color of the wood provides a very modern feel. This secretary is an antique piece that will fit perfectly in a modern home.
Besides being gorgeous, the secretary is also a very practical piece of furniture. The drawers (with hand-made dovetail joints) are fully functional and can provide plenty of storage space, whereas the flip-top provides a small, yet comfortable writing surface as well as a nook where to organize bills and letters, or crafting or hobby supplies.
