Diminutive Antique Directoire Bookcase Secretary
About the Item
A finely constructed bookcase secretary with a chest. The tall cabinet has a pierced brass 3/4 gallery around the marble top with cookie corners. The bookcase has a frieze drawer over double mirrored doors opening to a single shelf. A green leather top pull out return is in the center over three long drawers. With fluted half-column supports in front, fluted pilasters at the back, and recessed sides, raised on turned legs with brass collars on ball feet. The drawers have angular bales and all drawers and panels have brass string inlay details. Lacking a key.
Dimensions: 57" high x 25 1/2" wide x 15" deep
Condition: Please review the detail photos. The mirrored doors have aging spots and losses to the surfaces. The brass is somewhat tarnished but to a nice antique finish. One back leg brass collar is loose but can be fixed. The leather has expected wear and looses. The cabinet overall is gently used with a nice satin finish and a particularly refined presentation.
