About the Item

This substantial, mid-19th century secretary features solid oak construction with a beautiful patina. A molded arched cornice with a swan neck pediment crowns the piece and showcases a delicate circular display of fanned leaves to form a stunning focal point. Double bodied, the upper cabinet has double doors that open to three shelves. The lower body contains the slant-front desk portion and a lower cabinet with double doors that open to a single shelf. When closed, the slant-front lid hides six organizational drawers. When open, it is supported by pull-out arms and creates a desk top surface for writing or reading.
