Biedermeier Maple Drop Front Secretary

About the Item

A very attractive early 19th century Maple and Ebony German Biedermeier drop front secretary. Nice deep rich color and patina to the Maple surface. Pine secondary wood on the case and drawers. Original Ebony feet and Ebony escutcheons. A truly beautiful piece of this era. All drawers are working smoothly and the drop front lid is strong when down. Original locks are all working with four keys.

    Repaired: Veneer repairs, repairs to the sides of the two large drawers that were worn from use, original surface repolished. Two back boards are replacements. Wear consistent with age and use.
