About the Item

SmallLouis XV or Baroque Secretary Switzerland (Bern) Walnut Baroque around 1760. Dimensions: H x W x D: 109 x 93 x 60 cm Description: Writing furniture standing on a cut-out plinth frame. Diagonal flap secretary or chest of drawers. The three-leaf chest of drawers is gently convexly curved in the front. The piece of furniture is veneered in walnut, the drawers each have a wide field set off in walnut root. The original fire-gilt fittings blend harmoniously into the overall picture. The top is slightly overhanging. On top of it is the writing section with an opening slanted flap and seven smaller drawers rising like stairs. On the back wall we see two inventory stamps made of sealing wax with a hardly legible stamp Schaffhausen[...]. Condition: Restored condition with wonderful patina and a naturally grown wood tone. The gilding of the fittings is authentically aged.
