About the Item
19th Century Italian Baroque/FFlorentine Carved Blackened Oak Hunt/Sideboard
An exquisite 19th-century Italian Baroque/Florentine carved blackened oak hunt/sideboard is a masterwork of craftsmanship and design. With dimensions of 70 inches in width, 22.75 inches in depth, and 40.75 inches in height, it subtly commands attention with its quality and uniqueness.
The huntboard or sideboard features a rectangular form topped by a carved stylized anthemion pattern backsplash, adding an elegant touch to its presence. The top is a meticulously carved trellis scroll motif, adorned with an egg and dart edge.
Three carved frieze drawers adorn the front, each boasting medallions and fruit motifs. The center drawer measures 31 inches wide, 19 inches deep, and 4 inches high, while the flanking drawers measure 10 inches wide, 19 inches deep, and 4 inches high, providing ample storage space.
Standing on six fantastically carved cornucopia fruit and flower column legs, the sideboard represents details of the Baroque and Florentine periods. Supporting a lower shelf measuring 72 inches in width, 22.75 inches in depth, and 22 inches in height, it offers additional display and workspace options.
Raised on six reeded bun feet, this huntboard or sideboard is not only functional; it embodies the essence of Italian Baroque and Florentine revival furniture. Ready to place and use.

19th Century English George III Mahogany & Brass Gallery Hunt/Sideboard
England, Circa 1820
A exquisite 19th Century English George III Mahogany & Brass Gallery Hunt/Sideboard, a testament to restrained elegance and impeccable craftsmanship from circa 1820. This quietly stunning antique piece features a well-figured mahogany case without inlay, accentuated by a cast brass three-column gallery, a uncommon feature of the George III era.
The demilune top, standing at 37 inches high, is adorned with a rear brass gallery at 48 inches, spanning 70 inches in width and 20 inches in depth. Architecturally designed, the unique case includes distinctive elements: the far left and right door cabinets measuring 17 inches high by 12 inches wide, boasting uncommon push latches. Flanking these cabinets are doors with interior triangular three-tiered cutlery drawers with brass pulls.
At the center lies an upper long drawer measuring 35 inches wide by 8 inches high, while the focal point is a 32-inch wide by 8-inch drop-down door, perfect for Hunt Board purposes (accommodating guns and/or butler's trays within a generous 30-inch wide by 8-inch interior space) This is a 'true' hunt board sideboard...
