19th Century Italian Ebonized Wood and Inlay Marquetry Sideboard

About the Item

Breathtaking black and white ebonized wood sideboard cabinet having meticulous inlay figural decoration. The Milanese Italian antique cabinet comes in two pieces. The top (39.75 w at top 11.5 d at top 36.5 w body 9.75 d 36.5 h) has a pair of doors that open to an interior shelf having romantic female figures adorning the fronts. Bottom table has carved turned legs, two drawers, and equally magnificent inlay decoration. (Table measures 18.5 d 40.5 w 32 h) Metal braces are on the back to attached top to bottom. Inside of drawers, back of cabinet and interior shelf are all added later.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Some cracquelure on table top and signs of wear as shown in photos. Some of the ebonized paint is thinner in areas where more of the wood grain is visible. Afew missing pieces of inlay on table top.
