About the Item
This exceptional model 1730 sideboard was designed by Horst Bruning for Behr in Germany, 1960. A striking piece of Mid-Century Modern design, it is distinguished by its pure architectural lines and refined materiality.
The sideboard features a white lacquered wooden cabinet with two wide sliding doors, offering ample and well-organized storage. Its long, linear form is elevated by a brushed aluminium base, giving the piece both visual lightness and structural clarity. The recessed door pulls are seamlessly integrated, reflecting Bruning’s dedication to functional minimalism and precision.
Designed during a pivotal period of German modernism, the piece embodies Bruning’s pursuit of simplicity, balance, and elegance. Both practical and sculptural, it integrates harmoniously into contemporary and modernist interiors alike.
This rare and highly collectible sideboard remains in very good original condition, showing only minimal signs of age. A timeless design statement and an iconic example of Bruning’s work for Behr, sought after by collectors of modernism.
