About the Item

This bar cabinet, with its geometric shape, is a true example of Art Déco style, crafted by the prestigious company Sichirollo. Its design features a robust and geometric structure, with rounded corners and clean lines that convey elegance. The use of fine woods is characteristic of this period, and the cabinet is enhanced by intricate wood inlay, a craftsmanship technique where small pieces of differently colored wood are set together to create complex designs depicting hunting scenes or mythological figures. The zigzag patterns and inverted ellipses at the bottom are distinctive elements that contribute to a strong visual impact. This piece of furniture exemplifies the craftsmanship and design of the era, combining the functionality of a cabinet with the artistry of decoration. Historical News about Giulio Sichirollo: Designer, soul, and directing mind of the company Grazioli and Gaudenzi, which specialized in decorative arts and furniture, Giulio Sichirollo designated his wife, Gemma Fragni, as the heir to his estate. After becoming a widow, Mrs. Sichirollo sought to honor her husband's wishes by making numerous donations to charitable institutions, particularly to the Ospedale Maggiore, for the construction of the new Ospedale San Carlo. Consequently, the image of Giulio Sichirollo, an indirect benefactor of the Ca' Granda, was included among those honored by the Institute.

Italian Art Deco Bar Cabinet in Parchment with Inlays Signed by Anzani, 1930s
By Giuseppe Anzani
Located in Meda, MB
This bar cabinet was produced in Italy, in the late 1930s and is a really unique and special piece. Its tremendous historical and artistic value is what makes this item a real piece of art, hard to find and one of a kind. Firstly, let's talk about its history. It was produced most likely in 1939 in Mariano Comense which is a small village near Milan by the artist Giuseppe Anzani. Anzani has been one of the greatest, if not the greatest wood crafter and inlaid maker. He started his career as an engraver when he was a little child and he won awards for his skills when he was only 16. Later on, he started also to master the art of wood inlay, becoming the most skilled inlayer of all times. His fame was so big that people from all over the world used to come to his little laboratory in the small and unknown village...
