18th Century Carved French Yew Wood and Chestnut Armoire
About the Item
This sort of armoire is also known as a marriage armoire.
Cornice and front are profusely inlaid with a leaf design, with a snake flowing up the middle of the doors, with pierced metal escutheon plate. Rare addition to this piece is a carved right facing eagle to the lower frieze. Standing on scrolled legs.
Double doors open to reveal a single oak shelf.
In great condition for age, ready to go into the home.
