About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this very grand, hand carved extremely large continental oak wardrobe dated to the base 1844 A truly stunning piece, this is a tour de force of carving, its all oak with solid brass fittings and the original key. The top depicts flowers and general floral designs, the base is carved with the date 1844, mostly likely this was a wedding gift It can be used as a normal wardrobe with a rail as fitted now or I can have shelves made to be used for folded linens, for a price to have the shelves made please let me know Condition wise we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be normal age and use related patina marks but mostly its in very fine order Dimensions Height:- 224cm Width:- 153cm Depth:- 64.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
