A painted pine armoire to which it is hard to do justice. The piece was built with no nails, only wooden pegs were used even to the width of the finest brad. The removeable crown with such pronounced angles obscures a cleated mortice and tenon joint, repeated in the lower interior which when opened allow the armoire to split in two for easy installation and transportation. Two doors each with two faux panels created with applied moldings, mounted on original iron strap hinges with period, but not original, working lock.

Good. Great condition and almost entirely original. Some metal has been added over the years. Interior shelf has some sag but is part of the very clever "knock-down" system and is very strong and secure, just not straight. Slight bow to doors..
