Anglo-French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Center Table

About the Item

A striking and extremely decorative Anglo-French 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood, Wedgwood, and Alpha Escalettes marble center table. The rectangular table is raised by eight most unique circular legs with beautifully carved acanthus leaf designs and elegant topie shaped feet. Each leg is connected by an exceptional pierced stretcher with lovely finely detailed foliate designs. The impressive pierced apron displays beautiful and most charming Wedgwood reserves with charming maidens and putti dancing framed within an exceptional floral garland. The center of the apron displays intricately detailed scrolled acanthus leaf movements centered by a leaf above luxuriant finely detailed swaging floral garlands. Above is the original Alpha Escalettes marble top framed within an elegant mottled and beaded giltwood border. All original gilt throughout.
