About the Item
“Abstraction # 1 "is both a rectangular coffee table and a functional piece of art. This unique piece is born from the research of materials, such as: Stucco infused with glass powder from Murano, pulverised marble from the Massa-Carrara area in Tuscany and lead sheeting that has been naturally weathered and oxidised. The final touch is the application of rivulets of 24 karat gold-leaf. The materials have been artfully applied over an aluminium panel. The color palette and the overall composition call up images of a sparse Sardinian desert scape at twilight. The artwork is encased in a custom made plexiglass case that rests on four legs which are also made of plexiglass. This piece was designed and built by artists and artisans of KalaRara in Rome. "Abstraction #1" comes with a certificate of authentication identifying it as a one-of-a kind piece of art.
