Antique Qing Dynasty Chinese Burl Root Wood Coffee Table

About the Item

A rare and most impressive Qing Dynasty (1636-1912) burled rootwood low table with inset Songhua river stone panels. 18th/19th century, Provincial China, hand-crafted one-of-a-kind, featuring a distinctive sculptural form, having naturalistic root-like complex forming the rectangular shaped live-edge top, expansive aprons and winding slightly splayed legs. The top showcasing richly figured burl wood grain detailing, framing two mellow greenish-gray Songhua panels with subtle light veining and natural inclusions. Dimensions: (approx) 42" Wide, 19" High, 21" Deep Provenance / Acquisition: Acquired from reputable auction house Heritage Auctions, Dallas, TX.
