About the Item
"Playing Koi" is a one-of-a-kind coffee table made by hand in Rome. The table consists of an aluminium panel applied with silver leaf upon which two Koi fish have been hand painted. The panel was then covered with clear Murano glass rods and multicoloured Murano glass crystals. The entire piece was then fixed with an-house custom made ultra clear resin which hold the glass crystals permanently in place. The finished panel was then placed in a custom made plexiglass case with a scratch resistant tempered glass cover. The case was then set over a plexiglass cube that is held in place with plexiglass dowels.
The entire piece is based on the theme of the precious and ephemeral nature of water.
