About the Item

A stylish vintage, circa 1930s, hammered and patinated bronze-tone iron Italian Modernist table on casters. Signed, V.E.T. Meris. Hand-crafted in Italy in the early/mid-20th century, having a sculptural textured scrolled wrought iron curule X-frame with single stretcher and ball finials, supporting rectangular fabric-clad wooden tabletop, adorned with original decorative trim and a fitted glass top with etched white label, VET Meris, resting on smooth Streamline Moderne casters. Dimensions: (approx) 24.25" High, 27.5" Wide, 18" Deep Versatile: As warm and attractive as it is useful, having the ideal size and proportions for a variety of different uses, including as a side table, coffee table, service trolley, tea cart or dessert server, rolling decorative arts display stand, unusual bedside nightstand, petite hall console, entry statement piece and more! Condition: Great original antique / vintage condition. Presents well, with warm, nicely aged patina over the whole. The fabric top has a dark circular spot near the center, very minor pulling, indentations and losses. Typical expected wear consistent with age and indicative of use.
