18th Century Black Baroque Stone Top Table from Sweden

About the Item

Baroque period stone top table from the 18th century, Sweden. This impressive table features a deep plum colored 2" thick stone top. The base has one drawer with divided interior and rests on heavy turned oak legs and trestle. The black painted finish shows age-related wear and distress revealing the natural oak below. Please examine photos to appreciate the patina of the striking old stone top with muted plum tones, as well as scratches, wear, and nicks that reflect over 250 years of use. This table will make an impressive entry console table or small kitchen island. It has been restored and is stable, ready for use. All scratches, cracks, nicks, age-related separation of wood, etc. are commensurate with age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this exceptional table from the 1700's. Examine photos of base, drawers, feet etc for better understanding of condition. Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition, and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting all impact how item is viewed. Photos are part of item description, please ask questions or request additional photos of specific areas if needed.
