19th Century Louis XV Style Carved Giltwood Console Table with Marble Top

About the Item

A 19th century Louis XV style wall console table with marble top. Probably from the Napoleon III epoch. Gesso and gold painted, openwork carved and rocaille-shaped wooden frame, carved with leaves and flowers, with volute supports connected by cartouche supports. Profiled marble top (‘marbre brèche’) resting on the frame and moulded at the corners. Dimensions Height: 80 cm / 31.49 inch. Width: 98.5 cm / 38.77 inch. Depth: 46 cm / 18.11 inch. An authentic piece in good, stable condition with signs of use due to its age, including various slight damages to the golden frame and the gesso. Occasional old traces of woodworm (not active!). Beautiful age patina. See photos. For safety reasons, we recommend fixing the wooden frame to the wall.
