About the Item

Height from the floor to the bottom drawer: 23.42in An 19th century Spanish baroque desk, or writing table made of solid oak with fluted shaped legs joined by solid wood stretched. Two drawers with original iron drawer pulls and two false drawers in back. The top is made from a single plank of oak and is slightly warped. Beautiful grain and nice character to the wood with some rough edges and a split on the top from the right. Waxed patina. Metered top and pegged construction. Finished on all four sides enabling it to be used as a centre table, sofa table, console or desk. Minor signs of restorations. Great feeling and sense of history. Born in Spain in the first decade of the 19th century, this exquisite walnut table features a rectangular planked top sitting above two drawers in the front. The table is raised on a trestle base, made of two Baroque style carved legs connected to one another through wood stretcher. The result is one of complete elegance, making this Baroque style Spanish table circa 1850 a great choice to decorate any living room or kitchen.
