About the Item

19th century, Venetian carved giltwood console table This console has been realized in the 19th century in Venice, Italy, in carved and gilded wood. The plan, recessed, is in wood painted to false marble. The console, of considerable size, has a line in the style of Louis XV, with a strongly shaped top, fascia and curved legs. On the front and laterally the band has a carved decoration with volute motifs and phytomorphic elements of Rocaille taste. The four legs are crossed by floral branches in relief and carved feet. This majestic console despite having a rich and ornate line, looks well balanced resulting light, decorative and very pleasant. In the important Baroque Italian palaces, the consoles were among the most beloved furnishings, emblem of the wealth of the client, to show off in the large halls. This type of furniture, highly decorative, is still today of great scenic effect and contributes to the majesty of every room that hosts it. The brilliance of gold and the large size of this console make it an important piece of furniture, perfect to be inserted in an entrance hall, a living room or lounge, combined with antique or modern furnishings.
