From extremely detailed 3D scans of the most important classical sculptures of all times, Eduard Locota has digitally sliced and extracted the essential portion of the artwork, then physically 3D-printed it into a new representation fit for the XX-st Century. Eduard Locota has been working with digital 3D modeling software for over 20 years now; and this is the first time he has combined his digital 3D skills with his physical skills to give birth to this radical new collection, representing the past, present and the future. The sculptural group “Abstract Isometry” has been gravitating around the theme of fragmentation, slicing of the earth and plasticity. In the contemporary context, channeled almost exclusively on our natural resources, once abundant natural resources such as fossil fuel, water and even clean oxygen, become rare commodities. In the current context focused on excessive and unsustainable consumerism, the 21st century welcomes us with a Darwinian transformation for both men and nature. Evolution which leads to the development of a synthetic man living in a synthetic nature. Heavy topics as regeneration and sustainable environment are thrown into the arms of the future generations, that have not been born yet. Thus, the artist’s creations highlight the synthesis through alternative materials used, such as: synthetic marble (resin and marble dust), synthetic resin (Plexiglass), synthetic cement (Jesmonite), charcoal, wood, and so on. His works have a powerful conceptual plasticity but also physical plasticity, a concept that can be interpreted as modern works of the 21st century. Unique Because the artwork is entirely handcrafted and made to order; build process takes approximately 3-4 weeks for each artwork. Every artwork is hand-sculpted, molded and finished by hand by the artist himself. Because of this special build process, there will be small differences between every edition, thus unique, unique in the world. The 'Cloud' is a spectacular console with structure in polished stainless steel and top in rare green onyx. The console continues on the wall creating a wonderful scenography of mirrors set in green onyx slabs. The polished finishing of the stainless steel creates interesting reflections of light. The artwork console ‘Cloud’ was chosen by Maestro Andrea Bocelli and his wife Veronica. Dimensions: L 140 x W 49 x H 242 cm. Dimensions are customizable. Limited Edition of 24. We wanted to kidnap a cloud, slice it into thin sheets like it’s done with blocks of marble. After, we take the central slab with the most beautiful pattern. To keep the cloud from escaping, we tied it on to weights, disguising them as light, silvery legs. Now, that the cloud is fixed to the ground forever we dressed her in the colour of green onyx which rested for millennia in the depth of heavy mountains.
