French Louis XV Provencal Style, 19th Century Marble-Top Console Table
About the Item
French Louis XV Provencal style, 19th century marble-top console table. The richly sculpted, hand-carved wood base is supported by a graceful single cabriole leg. This wall console is a beautiful example of the French Rococco style. Every element is sculpted in curved lines inspired by nature, and evoking shell, leaf and sea motifs . It is surmounted by a handcrafted, contoured and beveled reddish-brown, white veined marble top.
Note fine fissure lines on the sculpted base which have not compromised the stability of the piece.
