About the Item

A striking and extremely decorative Italian 19th century Louis XV st. wrought iron, gilt metal and Brèche Violette marble console. The wall mounted console is raised by striking scrolled supports with stunning foliate gilt metal accents. The supports are connected by a beautiful stretcher with an elegant central leaf. Above, at each corner are impressive gilt metal acanthus leaves amidst scrolled movements leading to the most elegant pierced apron with a fine gilt metal Fleur de Lys central reserve below a lovely arch design. Above is the original Brèche Violette marble top with a delicate mottled border.
