Original Painted Console, Sweden circa 1800-20

About the Item

This impressive console will make a grand statement in any home. The uniquely shaped wood base was hand-painted; one can still see the faux marble design that was a traditional style element of the era. The original paint has faded and been distressed through generations of use. The overall gray finish shows undertones of brown and green, trimmed in a dark brown/black tone. The majority of the top has been worn down to the natural oak below. There are stains, distress, cracks and wear seen in the planks which also have typical age-related separation. Strong and stable, this highly original antique console will make a stunning addition to one's interior. All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this rare find. Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting may all impact how item is viewed.
