Pair of English Eagle Based Console Tables, circa 1910

About the Item

This is a matched pair of console / hall tables made in England, circa 1910. The top of each table is a beautiful cut of blue, black and gray highly figured marble. The frame on each table is made of walnut and Kashmir walnut (Kashmir walnut is the finest cut of burr walnut). The hand carved Eagles face each other as a real pair should always do. There is a hand carved gold molding to the top and to the base of each table. There is a pair of winged lions in a decorative gilt metal that are in the center of each table frame. There is a gilt meal decorative molding around the lower of the top frame. The Eagles are of the finest quality and are wonderfully and deeply hand carved. Each Eagle is resting on a group of hand carved rocks. Each of the tables maintains its original mirrored back to the base. There are labels on the back that indicate at some time in their lives these tables were sold through Christie's Auctions in London. Both tables are in fabulous physical condition and finish. These are as good as it gets. An amazing matched pair of the best of the best. Each table measures 44 3/8 in. wide x 18 in. deep x 36 in. tall.
