About the Item
A stunning pair of Italian 18th century Baroque giltwood, faux painted marble and polychrome freestanding consoles. Each console is raised by an elegant square faux painted green marble base with cut corners and a striking black polychrome rock design. Each wonderfully executed charming giltwood cherub is seated and are draped in flowing fabric with their arms raised. The impressive frieze displays richly carved and intricately detailed foliate scrolled carvings on a hammered back plate and is the façade of the drawer with a lock. Above is the most decorative faux painted Porphyry top with a mottled border and scalloped shape.
