About the Item
A sensational and important pair of Tuscan mid 17th century Baroque Period Walnut and Marble consoles. Each impressive freestanding console is raised by ball and block supports below the four barley twist legs. The four legs are joined at the blocks by a handsome X shaped stretcher with a central Walnut carved finial. The legs lead up to a top block before the arbalest shaped frieze. The arbalest shaped frieze displays scalloped shaped sides with a top and bottom mottled trim all below the most impressive and original marble top. This unique stone is finished by a hand carved mottled edge design. Exceptional quality and overall design.
