One small table ‘Rasson’ Model in Macassar ebony with glass top. The table was designed by Ruhlmann and edited by Porteneuve. Stamped 'Dessiné par Ruhlmann, Edité par Porteneuve'. Reference number 1218NR in the Ruhlmann Archives, Musée desAnnées 30, Boulogne Billancourt. Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann (1879-1933) was a French furniture designer and interior decorator and one of the most important and influential figures of the Art Deco movement, even considered by some the godfather of French Art Deco. His designs are characterized through elegance and purity of form, made with precious materials and expert craftsmanship, combining luxuriousness with modernity.
