About the Item
A handsome and very well made Roll Top desk with dove-tail drawer construction, traditional British form and handsome contrasting woods. Brass plaque in a top drawer. The top cabinet with a carved gallery and reeded sides, opening to two sets of four satinwood drawers, cubbby holes, and a three-part tooled leather writing surface (the center one lifts up). The lower cabinet with two banks of three drawers each with brass keyholes. The whole raised on a carved base. Turned knob pulls overall. Lacking key.
Dimensions: 50" wide by 48" high by 30" deep.
Condition: Restoration recommended. Lacking a key. There are some veneer losses, chips and scratches to the frame with stained and torn leather. While some level of restoration is recommended, the Desk retains a stately and handsome presentation.
