A mid 20th century birch art deco desk with 7 drawers and key included. Date of manufacture stamped: 20 12 1940 Designed by Erik Chambert (1902-1988) who was a pioneering interior designer and furniture maker. He co-managed Chamberts Möbelfabrik, a family furniture business and gained recognition for his functionalist designs. Key highlights of his career include: Major work for the 1930 Stockholm Exhibition, praised for its simplicity and success. Created practical, timeless furniture, influenced by Bauhaus and Art Concret. Designed unique pieces, including a folding recliner and the “Poem” chair. Known for exquisite marquetry and commissioned for public and private spaces. Participated in numerous prestigious exhibitions, showcasing his furniture and art.
