About the Item

This listing is for the table alone. Dining chairs pictured are sold separately. A striking 1970s Brutalist dining table by Craft Associates, featuring a sculptural resin trestle base and a substantial half-inch thick glass top. Rectangular in form, the table offers generous proportions—ideal for use as a dining table or as a bold statement desk. The richly decorated resin surface borrows from Paul Evans’ celebrated Brutalist studio works. A dynamic mix of etched and molded motifs creates a heavily textured relief with the look of molten metal. Though cast in resin, the finish convincingly mimics forged bronze and steel, with tones of gunmetal gray, bronze, gold, and black. The trestle base not only grounds the piece visually but also maximizes legroom, enhancing comfort and functionality. Dimensions: Total assembled: 71.625 in. L x 39.625 in. W x 29.5 in. H Base: 40.5 in. W x 28.625 in. D x 28.625 in. H Glass: 71.625 in. L x 39.625 in. W x 0.5 in. thick Condition: The glass is clean with only a small bubble and a few minor scratches. The base shows light wear consistent with age, including an area of resin repair and a few scuffs, but remains structurally sound and visually striking. This Brutalist line by Craft Associates remains among the most collectible from the era, admired for its bold sculptural quality and unmistakable presence. The glass top allows the intricate base to be viewed and appreciated from every angle, making it as much a work of art as a piece of furniture. We also have a full suite of matching pieces available, including eight dining chairs, a credenza, wall-mounted bar, etagere, end tables, and lounge chairs. Please inquire for availability. A rare opportunity to acquire an iconic Brutalist design with commanding scale and timeless character—perfect for collectors, designers, and lovers of mid-century statement pieces.

Maitland-Smith Style Brass and Glass Travertine Stone Pedestal Cocktail Table
By Maitland Smith
Located in Chattanooga, TN
This architectural side table marries sculptural minimalism with luxurious materiality. It features a smooth, square travertine pedestal base whose warm, subtly veined surface grounds the design with natural gravitas. A beveled square glass top appears to hover above, subtly supported by a centered gold-finished cross-bar that spans gracefully across the stone, bringing an elevated shine and visual tension to the composition. The cross-bar nestles into precise grooves carved into the travertine—an elegant detail that ensures both structural integrity and aesthetic refinement. The beveled edge of the glass enhances the interplay of weight and transparency, accentuating the stone’s solid presence while inviting a sense of lightness. Measuring approximately 27.75 inches square for the glass surface, with a base of 23.5 inches square, and standing around 22.25 inches in height, the table offers a commanding yet thoughtful footprint. Its proportions are ideally suited for both statement placement and purposeful function in luxe interiors. The stone remains unblemished, with the travertine maintaining full polish and clarity. The glass shows a minor repaired chip at one corner, and the gold bars have gently aged, offering patina that enhances rather than detracts—adding an authentic collector’s narrative. Stunning travertine stone square pedestal cocktail table in the style of Maitland-Smith. Super-sleek, elegant and Classic modern style. The stone has exotically marbled earth tone veins. The Minimalist design is perfectly complimented and contrasted by the flat bar brass...
