Dining Table in Cherry with Our ‘x’ Base by Boyd & Allister
About the Item
Our ‘X’ base dining table is one of our studio favorites. It has an organic sculptural quality and lightness while also being sturdy. The ‘X’ of the base is a showcase of careful joinery and countless hours with a spokeshave achieving the gentle curves. It starts as a large half lapped joint in the center and then progresses through work with the bandsaw, pattern routing and hand shaping. The pictures show a variety of different tables and highlight options available. One of the walnut (and the cherry) tables showcases a live edge top. The second walnut table shows a rectangular (not live edge) top and a base held right to the ends of the table so that the seating can be entirely on the sides. The standard location of the base is 12” in from each end of the table but as each piece is custom made, we are able to adjust the base location for specific needs. The table is priced for a 96”x32” rectangular top in cherry but can be built in any size or wood desired with an option of a live edge top. The finish is a durable low sheen spray finish but an oil and wax could be used for no additional cost.

Boyd & Allister
Boyd & Allister is a custom furniture studio located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We have been hand making furniture for designers and architects around the country since 2010. We custom make each piece using traditional joinery methods and hand select each piece of wood. We source our wood from small sawyers around the country who bring the same level of care to their craft as we bring to ours. Many of our designs are inspired by mid century masters; timeless with clean lines, allowing the beauty of the wood to shine.

The table is priced for an 8’x32” table but custom sizes are not a problem. Inquire for pricing
The table base is held in 12” from the ends of the table but can be adjusted for no additional cost.
