Visionary Paul Laszlo designed this mid-century table lamp for Brown Saltman during the 1950s in the United States. It has a wood body adorned with Laszlo's chest pattern, reminiscent of his famed "Basket Weave" furniture line. Geometry and volumes take center stage with its rectangular structure for the foot and base and tube-shaped shade. Paul Laszlo (1900-1993) was a Hungarian-born American interior designer known for his luxurious and influential work during the mid-20th century. His work embodied the glamour and sophistication of the era, combining modernist principles with opulent materials and impeccable craftsmanship. Laszlo's clientele included Hollywood stars like Elizabeth Taylor, Cary Grant, and Barbara Stanwyck. Laszlo's designs often featured custom furniture, vibrant colors, rich textures, and a harmonious blend of traditional and modern elements. Throughout his career, Laszlo worked on various projects ranging from private residences to hotels, clubs, and corporate spaces.
