French Mid 19th Century Oval Walnut Vendange Table with Tilting Mechanism

About the Item

French solid walnut oval vendange table. Vendange tables were traditionally used in the vineyards to set out lunch for the workers during the growing and harvest seasons. They tilt up so they take up very little room in the wagon that would transport them to the vineyard. This oval table is larger than most and will seat 6 people if the chairs are not huge. The walnut is a rich honey color and it is in excellent and sturdy condition . Circa 1860. 51" long x 42" wide x 28 1/2" high
