Peter Greenwood Art Glass Oval Dining Table

About the Item

Peter Greenwood 1998 glass artist art glass oval dining table. Engraved signature and date on the clear glass base which itself stands on seven paperweight sized blown glass ball feet. 14 free form colored bubble glass rondels sit between the two table tops. The base design evokes Adolf Loos' Vienna Successionist design with eight vertical mouth blown colored glass tubes between two 25 inch diameter thick round glass and piercing a third in the center. The first oval glass top with small domed acrylic standoffs is placed on top of the base then the 14 organically shaped glass rondels are placed as you wish then the second beveled oval glass top floats above it all. Peter Greenwood was born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1960. In 1979, he had a shift of consciousness; the mystique, the discipline, the spiritual exercise which defines glass blowing forever changed his life. Peter has traveled to the glass centers of Europe including Orrefors, Sweden, Venice, Italy and Czechoslovakia. Peter thinks three dimensionally with ease and is a natural builder. His works include finely crafted wood furniture, hand forged iron, bronze, stainless steel fabrication, and stone fireplaces. Peter's work has been shown in museums and galleries throughout the United States, and is included in numerous private collections worldwide.
