About the Item
A pair of mid century gilt lacquered metal and leather two tier etageres. Maison Baguès style. French - Circa 1950.
Nicely proportioned tables, having black leather tiers with gilt tooled decoration, raised on lacquered gilt legs with acorn finials.
The tables have a slight wobble when pressed on, this is not damage just down to the design. Some of the lacquer shows darker age related marks, and some rubbing to the gilt on the finials. There are some scuff marks with use to the leather. One of the uprights is very slightly out of shape, but this does not affect its stability. As shown in the last photograph. The black leather has mellowed slightly with age too.
