Antique Walnut Chess or Checkers Games Table with Reverse Painted Glass Top
About the Item
This antique games table is unsigned, but presumed to have originated from the United States and date to approximately 1880 and done in the period Victorian style. The top of the table is made with a walnut surround with an inset reverse painted glass playing surface done in a faux marble pattern. The table base is done with a tapered pedestal with hand carved leaf details and sturdy serpentine tripod legs. The top of the table is done with dove tailed construction and the supports for the table top are done with pine.
