An extraordinary morphing envelope card table, hand-crafted and painted black, signed/stamped, high quality, "Seven Seas" by "Hooker Furniture"
The Seven Seas Collection from Hooker Furniture encompasses the finest in quality materials and design elements. Elegant and classic, each piece has been crafted with your discerning taste in mind, no detail too small for perfection. Constructed of hardwood solids and fine leather, ornate metalwork, simple, clean lines, curved molding edges have all been blended together to bring some of the finest pieces from the entire Hooker Furniture line.
Elegantly ebonized, mildly rustic, worn, distressed painted rich, deep luxurious red wine color, decorated with gilt silver and gilt gold accents, gracefully scrolling fiolate motif throughout; this side table extending to cards envelope-top games table, the ebony top turning and opening from the centre to reveal stunning ox blood red leather inset top, concave counter bowls to the corners and a large tooled leather playing; above two generously sized frieze drawers, rising on hand turned baluster-form straight legs with gilded bronze embellishments, joined by unique four pointed star shaped concave cross-stretcher lower tier, gracefully curved, inset leather surface with raised gallery molding, ending on bun feet.

A fine and rare, beautifully restored American Classical period sewing stand work table in mahogany and rosewood.
Elegantly sophisticated, this scarce antique is a wonderful example of high quality early 19th century American craftsmanship. Exhibiting fine detail throughout, the exquisitely handcrafted work table features a hinged shaped top with rounded corners, curved concave front, stunning highly figured matched rosewood inlay complimented by mahogany cross banded edge, set over a conforming shaped case. Lifting the top opens to reveal a fitted interior divided into eight compartments, including a hinged lid with built-in flip-up pin cushion, various size shaped lids are finished in mahogany accented by contrasting satinwood string banded border, a faux drawer front with contrasting mother-of-pearl escutcheon rests above a single frieze drawer with hand carved dovetail joinery and original turned wooden pull. Below, a perfectly proportioned carved, turned and fluted solid mahogany central pedestal rises from a shaped platform base, in true Empire fashion, the base is further raised on ornately carved paw feet.

Born in the United States in the early 20th century, featuring a rare and unusual form and extension mechanism. Slightly lift the rectangular top and the slide the mechanical horizontal draw-leaf style extensions to expand the the width of the top, morphing the library table / sofa console into a kitchen table / dining table.
Having a bookmatched burl wood, oak and walnut banded, parquetry inlay top, molded apron with dovetailed frieze drawer, rising on turned urn baluster-form standards, over shaped stretcher joined trestle base with twist ornamentation, resting on bun feet, signed, stamp to frame under top.

An early European oak pay table with beautiful, rich, rustic, elegantly aged patina.
Born in Switzerland in the 18th century, likely in the Swiss Alps near the French border, hand-crafted of high-quality solid oak, the Baroque period table is in exceptional shape, very strong and sturdy, excellent craftsmanship, quality and detailing throughout.
Having a rectangular two board top with banded inlay, above a single large frieze drawer, retaining the original forged iron handle, the sides accented with wooden pegged mortise through-tenoned joinery that allows the tabletop to lift off the base quickly, the pegs over a shaped apron with heart form cutout and carved scalloped edge ornamentation, rising on four hand turned splayed baluster-form tapered legs joined by a plank box stretcher, ending in ball feet.

Acquired from the estate of the late T. Boone Pickens (1928-2019). An American business magnate, billionaire, financier, and philanthropist.
