Danish Retro Teakwood 8-bowls “Lazy Susan” from 1964 by Digsmed
About the Item
This is the 1960s Danish rare 51 cm wide teakwood “Lazy Susan” serving plate by Digsmed.
It comes with the not so often occurring diameter 51 cm. This model has a well-proportioned 25 cm wide center plate. Around it spins a ball-bearing carousel tray (see the attached video) with eight recesses for the 11 cm wide serving bowls.
Eight glass serving bowls are included.
The bottom tray, the carousel, spins very soft and easy, but you can hear a slice ticking which testifies that a few balls in the ball bearing are missing.
The underside is signed with the well known Wiking helmet logotype and “Digsmed” and “Denmark” burned in the wood.
This particular copy is, as can be seen from the stamp, manufactured in 1964 and thus celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
