About the Item

An English carved oak side table from the 19th century, with lift top, serpentine front, slender fluted legs, weathered appearance and peg construction. Created in England during the 19th century, this small oak side table charms us with its rectangular triple-hinged top with carved serpentine front, curving sides, and slightly raised panel in the back, lifting up to reveal a convenient storage space ideal to conceal various documents and stationary. The side table is raised on four slender legs with fluted motifs and slightly weathered appearance, resting on elongated spade-inspired feet with carved in-curving accents. The apron is adorned with simply recessed panels with molded frames on all sides. With its small proportions, serpentine lines and convenient lift-top feature, this English oak side table from the 19th century will make for a lovely addition to any home, perhaps placed in a living room, bedroom or hallway.
