French 18th Century Louis XVI Period Mahogany and Ormolu Vanity/Side Table
About the Item
A stunning and very high quality French 18th century Louis XVI period Mahogany, flamed Mahogany and ormolu vanity/side table. The two drawer vanity table is raised by delicate topie shaped feet with fine casters below a bottom tier showcasing the beautiful wood grain and displaying a mottled brass fillet at the border. At the center are most elegant baluster shaped fluted legs with wonderful fitted brass fillets and striking mottled ormolu plinths and capitals. The two drawers and top faux drawer above also showcase the exquisite wood grain framed within a lovely mottled wrap around ormolu fillet and fine keyhole escutcheons with the top keyhole locking the top. The top opens to reveal all the original hardware and hinge which locks the top in an open position revealing its original fitted mirror plate framed within a mottled border. The sides and top display a beautiful French polished finish showcasing the wonderful wood grain framed within a delicate mottled band and elegant pierced ormolu gallery above.
