18th C. Italian Table w/Carved-Trestle Legs & Elegantly Forged Iron Stretchers

An Italian walnut wood nicely-carved trestle-leg table with decorative forged-iron stretcher, from the 18th century. This antique table from Italy features a rectangular-shaped top, which is raised upon a pair of lyre-shaped, trestle-styled legs, which have been beautifully hand-carved with raised volutes, scrolls, and diamond patterns. At the underside of the table are a pair of elegant hand-forged iron stretchers, with leaf accents, that create visual interest, and further embellishment to this piece. The walnut wood has a rich, warm patina; a reflection of it's history and age. This 18th century Italian table, with its ornately carved legs & iron stretcher, offers numerous opportunities for use throughout your home- perhaps as an occasional table, a small dining option, or a handsome desk.

An Italian wood trestle-leg table with forged-iron stretcher bars, from the 18th century. This antique table from Italy has clean, simple lines, and features a rectangular-shaped top, raised upon a pair of trestle sawhorse-style legs, with a wood brace supporting them just above the feet. The underside of the table is braced by a pair of hand-forged and twisted iron stretchers, which meet at the underside center of the top, creating visual interest and further embellishment to this piece. The walnut wood has has a warm patina with some cracks and prior repairs (see additional images) ; a reflection of it's history and age. The iron stretcher pieces unhook from beneath and allowing the legs to fold down- making the table collapsible and easy for transport. Leg clearance is approximately 28" between skirt and floor. This antique table from Italy features a rectangular-shaped top, which is raised upon a pair of nicely-turned, trestle-styled legs (with a pair of turned wood stretchers supporting them at each side) and raised upon low-profile bun feet. The underside of the table is braced by a beautifully hand-forged iron stretcher, reminiscent of a bell or ogee arch shape, and is adorn with several disc and leafy shaped decorative pieces.
