American Classical Bobbin Leg Wood 2-Tier Turned Leg Side Table, 19th Century

About the Item

An American Revival or American Classical style barley twist or bobbin turned leg wooden side or occasional table. This two-tier table includes a large square tabletop with smooth beveled edges. As well as a second smaller bottom-tier shelf with scalloped or curved sides. The wood is original and in a dark stain. The wood has moderate patina, scratching, and stains which add to its character. We like to imagine the stories that were told while sitting next to this beauty. Perhaps the most eye-catching detail of this piece are the four splayed bobbin legs. Often referred to as turned legs or ball legs. (We’ve even heard them referred to as “schoolhouse legs”) This is a detail much sought after by many savvy designers. Can’t you imagine reclining on a large covered front porch, glass of iced tea in hand, and this table between two oversized rocking chairs? Dimensions: 24" Wide 24" Deep 28.25" Tall
