About the Item

Antique French carved sofa center table barley twist Renaissance Cherub dark oak. Direct from France, this fabulous antique French sofa table, carved from “top to bottom”! Solid oak beveled edge top over a wide apron, with medallion and scroll carvings on all sides, as well as carved block corners. Each side has a large carved panel featuring carved center basket overflowing with carved flowers and flanked by full figure cherubs/cupids. To either side of the cherubs, large round floral buttons held by foliate scrolls. Barley twist upper and lower legs, on all sides, with barley twist side stretchers and a full-length barley twist stretcher. Excellent to “float” in the middle of the room, as there is no ‘backside’ to this gorgeous table. (Additional thought, imagine adding a piece of white marble to the top!!) Quality throughout, solid oak, well built by craftsmen of the period, circa1900. Measurements: 30” ht. x 36.5” x 24”. Note: All of our antiques are direct from Europe.
