Mid-century modern Jens Quistgaard Teak Wood Side Table and Tray

About the Item

Side table in teak wood designed by Jens Quistgaard. Denmark, 50s Jens quistgaard is a Danish sculptor and designer. Well known internationally for popularizing Scandinavian design in the USA, He worked for Dansk Designs and Nissen among others. His designs combine sculptural volume and functionality. This Side Table’s top is just resting on the embracing structure, so it is easily removed to be a tray or, given it’s shape, a fruit bowl. Also, it features one of the designers most known techniques where he carves different solid wood blocks glued together to form a collage of wood grains.
